What is a Claude video? Can Claude make videos?

A Claude video is a video that Claude makes by writing it as code — so yes, Claude can make videos, just not as raw footage. Claude doesn't generate video frames the way Sora or Veo do. Instead it writes an animation in React, using SVG, Canvas and libraries such as Remotion, and that code is rendered frame by frame into an MP4. The result is a motion-graphics video: animated typography, shapes, charts and UI, with text that stays perfectly sharp.

This is what people mean by a Claude video, Claude AI video or Claude animation: precise, designed motion rather than realistic footage. It suits product promos, explainers, data stories and short social posts.

How to make videos with Claude (step by step)

If you code, a Claude Code video workflow with Remotion looks like this:

  1. Create a project with npx create-video@latest.
  2. Add the Remotion agent skills: npx skills add remotion-dev/skills.
  3. Open Claude Code in the project and describe the video scene by scene.
  4. Preview in Remotion Studio, ask Claude to fix timing or layout, then render with npx remotion render.
