What is Remotion AI?

Remotion AI means using an AI model to write Remotion code. Remotion is an open framework for making videos with React: every frame is a React component, so a video is just code that can be rendered to MP4. Large language models like Claude are very good at writing that code, which is why "AI + Remotion" became the go-to way to make motion graphics from a prompt.

The output is a Remotion video: precise animated typography, shapes, charts and UI, rather than AI-generated footage.

What are Remotion skills?

Remotion skills are official Agent Skills from the Remotion team — a set of best-practice instructions that coding agents load when they work in a Remotion project. They cover project setup, React best practices, previewing in Studio, rendering, captions, map animations and more, so the agent writes Remotion code the way the framework expects.

Install them in a project with npx skills add remotion-dev/skills. They work with Claude Code, Codex, Cursor and other agents that support Agent Skills.

Remotion Claude Code tutorial (step by step)

To make a Remotion video with Claude Code yourself:

Install Node.js, then create a project: npx create-video@latest.
Add the skills: npx skills add remotion-dev/skills.
Start Claude Code in the project folder and describe the video: length, aspect ratio, scenes, on-screen text and style.
Run npx remotion studio to preview, and ask Claude to fix anything that looks off.
Render with npx remotion render.

Plan on several prompt-and-fix rounds per video when you use Claude Code with Remotion. The hard part isn't the first draft — it's pacing, text that never overlaps, and transitions that land on the beat.
