Can Claude make an actual video, or only animation code?
Claude does not generate video pixels the way Sora, Runway or Veo do. It writes the animation as code (animated text, shapes, charts and images), and something has to render that code into an MP4. That something is the difference between the three routes below. Whether you get a finished video or a pile of code depends on the tools around the model, not on the model name.
Claude Motion: built into Claude
Anthropic's help article "Get started with Claude Motion" (read on 24 October 2026) describes it as a beta feature that turns your content into short animations such as explainers, animated charts and product walkthroughs. Each animation is code that plays like a short video, and you export it as an MP4.
- Who has it: Team plans have it on by default; on Enterprise it is off by default and an owner enables it in Organization settings.
- How you use it: in a chat choose Output, then Motion, or pick a Motion template in the Artifacts tab, describe the animation, and edit it by chat or in the editor.
- What it cannot do: it does not use a video generation model, so it does not create realistic footage or people.
- Cost: it counts toward your plan's usage limits, and longer or more complex animations use more of them.
- Not stated in the article: the MP4 resolution, a length limit, or whether music and sound can be added. Check the article before you rely on any of these.
Claude Code with Remotion: any plan, you run the render
If you code or are happy to follow steps, Claude Code can write a Remotion project and you render it from the terminal with a command such as npx remotion render. It works with whatever Claude access you already have and gives you the most control, but you set up the project, the audio and the rendering yourself. Our Remotion and Claude Code tutorial walks through it from an empty folder to an MP4.
Opus55Vid: no Claude plan, pay per video
Opus55Vid runs that same code-to-MP4 pipeline for you in the browser. You type one sentence, Claude Opus 5.5 writes the Remotion animation, and we render a 1080p MP4. You do not need a Claude subscription or any setup.
- Price: $9.99 for 300 credits, paid once, no subscription. A 15-second video is 100 credits (about $3.33), 30 seconds is 180 credits and 60 seconds is 400.
- Sound: every video has an original soundtrack composed for it plus sound effects timed to the animation. There is no voice-over.
- Formats: 9:16, 16:9 and 1:1, no watermark, commercial use allowed.
- Edits: change a video by chat; the first edit on each video is free.
Which one should you use?
- You are on a Claude Team or Enterprise plan and want it inside Claude: Claude Motion.
- You code and want full control over the project: Claude Code with Remotion.
- You have no Claude plan, or you want a finished video with a soundtrack without setup: Opus55Vid.
All three make motion graphics, not filmed footage or people, and Opus55Vid is independent of Anthropic and Remotion. For the price side of the question, see Opus55Vid pricing.
Can I use the video and its music in paid ads?
From our side, yes: Opus55Vid videos can be used commercially, including ads, social media and websites. Check three things for any tool, ours included: that the plan you used allows paid advertising, that the music is licensed for the platforms where the ad will run, and that you have the rights to every logo, image or brand you put into the video. Our soundtrack is composed for each video rather than taken from a music library, and it comes with the video.
